I had hoped to do the ride but am now obligated to share in the delights of family focussed social commitments over the weekend, not sure which - this or a couple of hundred bumpy kilometres - will prove the least demanding (but I can make a pretty good guess). Enjoy the day.
Sorry Darren - it would have been good to share your company in what looks to be the perfect strategy for this one.

My suggestion for the yellow "cake" jersey.
I am sure we could get "Clifton" in there somewhere!

Steph, the way you’ve been burning up the cow poo lately, this ride will be a piece of cake for you! (sorry, the cake analogy was there and I took it
). Seriously, our objective will be to get round together, not to leave a trail of bodies around the course - you’ll be fine! - tbh, I’m not exactly waltzing into this with confidence either, I’ve never done this ride before and never ridden to Tan Hill or Fleet Moss
Mark> Great pick up of the Yellow Cake Jersey, I think we should ask Bettys in York to sponsor it!

Me to. I made a tentative enquiry the day after entry closing and received a categorical "No!".
That said - I'm probably not ready for this anyway. I have done the climbs before individually, just not all in one day!
So, best of luck to all taking part and I look forward to reading about your success here soon after.
Regards to all
Cheers
Pete

Hi All
I mapped the route out on Bike Hike and it is indeed 220k with ~2900m of climbing. It includes 4 of the climbs listed in the recently published 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs (Simon Warren).
The Stang (7/10 for hardness, he did it in 13 mins), Tan Hill (3/10, 27 mins), Fleet Moss (9/10, 22 mins), Buttertubs (8/10, 17 mins).
If you haven't got the book, other climbs in our region are for example Boltby (7/10, 6 mins), Rosedale Chimney (10/10, 9 mins) etc.
I would be interested to see what times Howard and crew can clock!? I think if I do them in less than triple these times I will be happy enough!
I don't have a GPS but I have saved the tcx version of the file if that is anygood to anyone.

I find Boltby bank harder than any of the climbs on the PG W2TD route.
This is my garmin log for it from last year:

Odd that the Garmin picks up less climing
